Orthotics

Orthotics is a branch of the medical profession dealing with the design, production, and use of external supportive devices in the treatment of orthopedic disorders. All orthoses are designed for functional or supportive reasons. Orthotics is support, brace, or splint used to support, align, prevent, or correct the function of movable parts of the body. Some types of orthotics include neck braces, spinal bracing, knee, leg, ankle braces and wrist supports.

There are many types of orthoses including custom made and custom molded. At Rocco’s Prosthetic and Orthotic Center, we specialize in custom orthotics, most of which are manufactured in our Walnut Hills location by our experienced orthotic and prosthetic technicians.

A practitioner in orthotics is an Orthotist. We have two Certified Orthotists, Richard Rocco, Jr. and Thomas M. Wilson. Both are certified by The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, the premier in O and P credentialing.
